Wellington Mill in Greenfield, Oldham was built in 1852 for Shaw, Son and Lees cotton spinners. In the years up to 1946 the mill was repurposed to produced engine parts for bombers and to provide a storage base for the navy before being abandoned.
Design proposals were produced to refurbish the Mill's existing four storeys and to add an additional two storeys over the existing roof to accommodate 48 luxury apartments with provisions for basement parking.
